Bi-Monthly Meeting
President Scott, KCุBHE, called the meeting to order at 1900 hours in the EOC. Members present were, KCุBHE Scott, KA4CKR Tim, WุUY Tom, KCุWPH Joyce, Roger KDุACL, Allen W1SBY, Jon AJุNR, Jake KBุZIA, and WุGUY Bill. Tim KA4CKR revealed the surprise that he had been telling us about for over a week. The Texas QSO Party (of which we used for simulated traffic during our 2007 SET exercise) had awarded First Place in the Non-Texas Multi-Operator Category to the Emergency Radio Club of Reno County WBุEOC. The plaque is hanging on the wall in the EOC. The Northwest Amateur Radio Society, W5NC, sponsored the award. Tim also discussed the lack of use of the www.wb0eoc.org website. Tom WุUY spends his own money and puts in several hours of his valuable time on this site. It has very useful information and he wants to encourage everyone to use it. Tom spoke about the 146.67 repeater. It is working much better now that the repeater crew has put some more work into it. A short discussion ensued. Tim spoke about Field Day 2008. He passed around some signup sheets and asked people to sign up for operator slots, food, and equipment or supplies needed. A discussion ensued while the lists were passed around. Tim spoke about the Multi-County CERT/MRC exercise coming up in September. He noted that the Texas QSO Party falls on the 27th of September this year, which happens to be the date set for the exercise. Since the plan was to have an HF station established at the exercise anyway, it was suggested that we work the Texas QSO Party again this year as a SET exercise component. The assembled members agreed. Net control stations were chosen.
